Michael has recently returned to the Wabash Valley where he was born and raised. Michael graduated high school from Northview before getting his MBA from Indiana State University in 2015. He then went on to graduate Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis in 2018. Michael is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana.
Michael joined the Rowdy G. Williams Law Firm in 2020 after moving back to Terre Haute to be closer to family and friends. Michael joined the firm as an associate attorney primarily handling criminal and expungement matters.
One of Michael’s passions has been in the area of reentry and public defense. For 3 years he served as a leader for the Second Chance Reentry Assistance Program’s Annual Reentry Fair in Marion County which helped over 1500 people annually get past the collateral consequences of their criminal convictions and move their lives forward in a positive manner. Michael also started working for the Indiana Public Defender Council’s Juvenile Defense Project while in law school, where he worked to improve juvenile defense state-wide through research, advocacy, training, and legislation.
In 2019, Michael published his first mobile application to the IOS and Android app markets for IPDC, named INcourt. This mobile application was designed to assist Indiana lawyers with quick access to important rules and tools while practicing in an Indiana courtroom. Michael also published multiple manuals on various legal issues related to criminal defense such as Expungement, Self-Defense, Constructive Possession, Traffic Law, and more.
Michael chose criminal law so that he can help be a voice to those who need heard and help those who are going through a tough time and need a way to get back on track. One of the most rewarding things for him is when he gets a favorable result for a client and feels like he made a positive difference in their life.
Michael is the kind of person who likes to think outside of the box and enjoys finding creative solutions to problems. For this reason, Michael will constantly challenge the status quo—he does not believe in doing things a certain way just because that is the way they have always been done. Because Michael believes that those charged with crimes deserves to be treated fairly and honestly, regardless of what they have done, you can rest assured knowing that he will do anything possible for your case to get you the help you need to get past the criminal justice system.
